Short shifters are OK for clearance but they’re a much more expensive fix, plus I love a good feedback and muscle memory that comes from a long throw, up shift to third when the hands are very busy with counter-steer and Hydrobrake while eyes are two turns ahead. Additionally the hand brake action should match the shifter throw for balanced reach & clearance on all things in the cockpit.
