C5 & C6 LimitBreak Clevis TIE Rod
SKU: C6TIERLB
Pair of hardened chromoly adjustable clevis style front tie rods for C5 and C6 Corvette equipped with our forged super angle knuckles. PTFE lined, low torque, high misalignment M16 spherical rod ends on inner and outer joints. This complete tie rod has way more misalignment angle than conventional tie rods in order to allow 70 degrees of steering angle without binding the joints or flexing the rack shaft near full travel. The length is suitable only for use with extended control arms. Bolts right into the Ackerman adjustable hardware on the MAX knuckle. Option for OEM knuckle taper is in shopping cart. Minimum length setting is 390mm from rack shaft to outer joint center. *** The cup end of the steering rack casting needs some grinding to clear the M14 bolt going through the clevis. If you do not grind the end of the rack, you will not get full steering angle*** While you are in there cutting the left side steering rack cup its also a good time to cut off the steel band that retains the right side OEM bushing mount thats prone to ripping off. Purchase our billet solid rack mount sold separately on this site as part of your complete & more reliable steering angle improvements.
