Steering intermediate Shaft Extension for Nissan & Toyota
SKU:SSE
Adds 35mm to the steering shaft for use when relocating the steering rack forward so the steering column will reach the steering rack. This is a convenient and popular option in cart when ordering the S13 S14 Z33 & Z34 rack forward crossmember center section kits. Compatible with many other 0.688"/17.5mm OD 36 tooth steering systems including GT86, IS300, GS300 and even many trucks with body lifts like 4runner, Hilux, Hardbody pickups. etc. We are now we are making it available separately, right here. The precision of the splines made using the die-sinking Electrical Discharge Machining process shown on the instagram video below allows this hardened steel part to be made in one piece unlike other cheap examples out there for truck body lift kits. For drifting, it’s important to move the rack forward to get good steering leverage against knuckles that double the OEM steering angle. We also have tie rod offsetters but the rack forward mod has a strength advantage & protects the rack. Solid rack mounts in the Center Section mods help steering response as well. It’s a lot of effort to do the CS (or rack mod) so this extension adds a quick piece to the puzzle, saving time on cutting and extending the steering intermediate shaft for maximum spline overlap. If fabricators out there who dont use our center section have trouble getting the rack as far forward as we do, its ok to cut the spline length down on the shaft and/or hammer in the collapseable crash protection feature while still maintaining perfect spline overlap using this extension. 0.688"/17.5mm OD 36 tooth male, & female clamp gap accepts one filled spline on the intermediate shaft.
